Chaired by former Home Secretary and Education Secretary, Lord Blunkett, The Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland brings together the most influential figures from across the country.

It celebrates the hard work and achievements of the nation’s unsung leaders, while laying the ground for the next generation.

Most recently this organisation approached local businessman David Richardson, a specialist in asset protection, and invited him to appear in one of their educational podcasts. The podcasts allow business leaders to share their insights, within their specialisms, with a wide audience of up and coming future leaders, the aim of which is to help and inspire.

atc2 2 300x300David Richardson from Richardsons Legal Services (now trading as South West Asset Protection), was interviewed by host, Matthew O’Neill, alongside Lord Blunkett. The podcaster posed both guests a series of questions about leadership and the role it has played in their careers to date.

“I was originally contacted by Sir Eric Pickles to write an article for the Parliamentary Review, which came out in January 2019 with 20,000 copies circulated around the then Cabinet and Whitehall officials and various well known business leaders. I became more and more involved and eventually was invited to become a member of The Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland. As such it was a pleasure to share my business experience on such a platform. Sharing your knowledge and how you have grown is a great way to give back to.” Commented David Richardson on his appearance.

Lord Blunkett, chairman of The Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland said, “I think the most informative element of each episode is the first part, where Matthew O’Neill is able to sit down with someone who really gets how their industry works and knows how to make their organisation tick. Someone who’s there day in, day out, working hard and inspiring others; that is what leadership is all about.”

Matthew O’Neill added: “Hosting a show like this, where you speak to genuine leaders who have been there and done it, either on a national stage or within a crucial industry sector, is an absolute honour.”
